As the Morning Show host on WAVV 101 for the past 24 years, I’m proud we’ve consistently been the top-rated morning show with Adults 35+. Our listeners say they think of me as more than just an announcer; some even say I’m a personality, quick-witted, bright-humored and genuine with a sparkling, upbeat on-air delivery. (Blush). I appreciate my loyal, on-air following and the fans who come to meet me during our remote broadcast events. Originally from Buffalo, I’ve been a Southwest Florida resident since 1983 and live in Ft. Myers with my wife Penny.
I’m a Cleveland, Ohio native, and Naples has been my home for over 30 years. My wife Laura and I have two kids; an adult son and a daughter in high school. As your music host during the late morning and early afternoon, I strive to be a pleasant bridge between songs and keep you informed with local happenings and weather updates. WAVV-101.1’s relaxing, enjoyable music is the perfect complement to our beautiful Southwest Florida lifestyle, and I consider it a privilege and pleasure to provide this great mix of favorites you know and love.
Al BaxaAfternoon Drive Time
Hi, I’m Al Baxa and I’ve been your on-air afternoon personality and WAVV’s Chief Engineer since 1988. I’m a native of Minneapolis, but I’ve lived in Southwest Florida since 1984. You can often find me and my wife Terri hosting live trivia at various venues across the area. On Sundays during football season, you’ll find me cheering on the Minnesota Vikings. Terri and I have a grown daughter, Katy, and reside in Naples with our three dachshunds, Scooby, Sherman, and Ginger.
